Biosketch

Gaia Cecilia Luvoni earned her degree in Veterinary Medicine and PhD from the University of Milan. As a Research Scientist, she collaborated on projects on in vitro embryo production at the Department of Animal Science, Embryo Technology Laboratory, Louisiana State University, and then at the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology – College of Veterinary Medicine – University of Georgia, US. She is a Diplomat at the European College for Animal Reproduction (ECAR) and a full professor at the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science, University of Milan. She is the Past President of the EVSSAR (European Society for Small Animal Reproduction) and was a member of the ECAR Board from 2008 to 2020. Her main research interests are on Theriogenology and Biotechnology of Reproduction in Carnivores: assisted reproduction, cryopreservation of gametes and gonadal tissue, in vitro embryo production, and ultrasonographic foetal biometry. She has authored more than 200 publications (articles and book chapters).
